Day 1 - Chatuchak and Central World Plaza

Budget Terminal

We are flying to Bangkok via Tiger Airways TR 118. The departing time is 1.10pm and we need to be at the terminal 2 hours before departure. The budget terminal is clean, bright with simple decoration. This is our first time travelling with Budget airline so it is a completely new feeling and a totally different way to fly.

Half and hour before departure, we proceed to Gate 4 and the children were given priority in the queue. It is a bit chaotic and poor Aunt and Jiejie can't joined us but got to queue with the rest of the people in line. The plane took off on time and landed smoothly at Bangkok Int'l Airport. The only disadvantage of travelling with budget airline is that I can't ask for COKE! We need to pay for drinks/food. It costs $2 but Mommy said no...no...

Taxi Stand Counter/ Asia Hotel and Skytrain

Upon arrival and collected our luggage at Bangkok Airpot, we proceed shiftily to the Taxi Stand Counter. There are people touting us to use their "limousine service" to the city but we just smiled and move along.

At the Taxi Stand Counter, we told the Thai lady our hotel name and were given a slip of paper for the Taxi Driver. In less then 45 mins to reach our Hotel, the taxi meter showed 148 Baht but plus the toll it should NOT cost more than 240 Baht but we were told to paid 300 baht. We've overpaid him but Mommy didn't bother to bargain...(She must be in very good mood)

We checked-in to our Hotel room, put down our stuffs and waste no more time and make our way to the Skytrain Station that link to our hotel at 2Nd level.

At the Skytrain station, we bought 3 unlimited day pass to Mo Chit Station. Mommy took my stroller but going up & down at the station is not joke!

Chatuchak

At around 4.30pm, we reached Chatuchak but it was very crowded with the locals and tourist. Everywhere we walked was packed with people, it is really difficult to find our way around this market. The weather is extremely hot and humid or rather stuffy, so uncomfortable to shop under such unbearable weather.

I kept asking Mommy why on earth we are here and keep pestering her to go back to our hotel for a soak in tub instead! Guess what? Mommy chose to ignore my pleading...Oh my...so hot!!! I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE HOTEL!

An hour later, Mommy also can't take the heat and on top of that, she can't find the thing she is looking for so they finally decided to go to Central World Plaza, formerly known as World Trade Centre.

Central World Plaza

So we took another skystrain to Chitlorm Station and had our dinner at Hachiban Ramen first before contiune our shopping. It is a marvellous dinner and very reasonably priced too! We paid 300 Baht (< $12) for the 4 of us. After which, Mommy brought me to ToyS'Rus, it's new outlet in Bangkok and spend the rest of the evening there before Aunt & Jiejie came to meet us at Asia Books Store that located next door.

Back to hotel...

I've mine long awaited soak at the bath tub. As the stopper in the tub was not working properly so Mommy feel that it is kind of waste of water and didn't allowed me to soak for too long. She is wondering if the hotel "purposely" don't repair the stopper so that people can't use the bath tub...Nobody knows except the hotel.
